Occupational therapy services across Newcastle and the Hunter
Everything we do happens where you live your life. Below is the full range, grouped by service type.
Why work here
Purpose-driven work
You’ll be part of a team that genuinely cares about improving lives. Every assessment, every recommendation, every conversation contributes to helping someone live more independently.
A supportive culture
You’ll join a small team that shares knowledge, debriefs the hard days and celebrates the wins. Nobody gets handed a complex case and left to work it out alone.
Autonomy with support
You’ll manage your own caseload and diary, with regular supervision and a principal OT who is reachable when you need a second opinion.
Professional development
A dedicated PD budget and study leave, plus internal case discussion. The team holds training in ACT, DBT, trauma-informed care and neuroaffirming practice.
Flexibility and balance
Part-time and school-hours arrangements, geographic caseloads that respect your travel time, and a real expectation that you finish on time.
Variety
Aged care, disability, mental health and complex physical caseloads. You won’t be doing the same assessment forty times a month.
What a week looks like
Client-facing visits across a geographically clustered caseload
Protected admin and report writing time — not something you take home
Weekly team catch-up and case discussion
Regular one-to-one supervision with a senior clinician
A laptop, phone, and vehicle or travel allowance
New graduates
We take new graduates and we take that seriously. A new grad here gets a structured first year: a graded caseload that builds up rather than starting at full speed, weekly supervision, joint visits before you go solo on complex work, and a senior OT you can ring from the driveway when something surprises you.
If you’re about to graduate and community practice appeals, get in touch even when nothing is advertised.
Apply
Send us your CV and a few lines about what interests you. We read everything that comes in and we’ll respond either way — we know how demoralising silence is.
Questions before applying are welcome. Email info@livefreehealth.com.au or call 1300 921 406 and ask for Ellen.
Requirements: AHPRA registration as an occupational therapist (or eligibility for it), a current driver’s licence, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.
